Types of Phenomenon

paranormal phenomenon most people experience.

Intelligent or Traditional Hauntings
This type of haunting is what most people think of when they hear
the word ghost. An intelligent or traditional ghost is unique as
they interact with people. The most common belief is that the
ghost is connected to the site or people in some way.

Some reasons the ghost may be tied to the site or people:
1. Died as a result of a traumatic event.
2. Due to unfinished business.
3. The spirit may have died suddenly and not realized he or
she died.
4. The living loved ones are so emotionally distraught they
can’t let go.
5. The spirit is emotionally connected to their loved ones.
6. They cannot rest due to an injustice done to them.
7. Fear of the other side or judgment

These ghosts are generally associated with physical activity like
slamming, opening, closing, unlocking doors and windows, voices,
and sounds. A strong presence, a scent, or touch may be
experienced. People rarely see a manifestation of the ghost in the
form of an apparition or mist. The spirit has a purpose that is
probably unrelated to you, although they may be seeking your help to
solve their own issues. The intelligent spirit is aware of your
presence and usually attempts to communicate with you in some way.

Residual Haunting

A residual haunt is believed to be activity of reoccurring or
traumatic actions from past events that leave an imprint on the
environment. It is believed that residual hauntings make up the vast
majority of reported experiences. Because of its' similarity to
intelligent hauntings, people often mistake it as such. A residual ghost
appears at the same time and place over and over. It may appear
nightly, weekly, or even yearly; but whenever it appears it repeats the
same patterns observed on previous sightings. The residual ghost
does not interact with those around it and seems to be oblivious to
your presence and continues with its routine whether or not you are
there to observe it.

It is believed that this activity is the dissipation of stored energy from
the site due to repetitive or traumatic events. Similar to a tape player,
the energy is stored in the magnetic field of the environment. Over
time the energy builds up and is discharged showing a replay of the
event, and then the cycle starts again. Some suggest that atmospheric
conditions such as storms may initiate the playback. There is also a
quantum physics theory that relates the energy as light particles that
are dormant until they are stimulated by an outside variable under the
proper conditions.

Portal Hauntings

Portal hauntings are considered controversial as there is little
known and the idea is mostly theory or speculation. Portals are
thought to be doorways to another world or dimension in which
entities travel through. It's speculated that portals are not
limited to one location or sacred ground. Typically portals can
have different types of anomalous activity such as glowing balls
of light, odd creatures, strange shapes, or unexplained mists or
fog. Such suspected places are thought to have a portal in which
these energies are traveling back and forth.

Poltergeist activity

Poltergeist activity is distinguished from other paranormal
activity by the sudden onset of unusual noises and objects moving
on their own which lasts anywhere from several days or weeks to
up to 2 years. Then the activity suddenly ceases.

Poltergeist activity may suddenly cease; however, in some cases the
activity will progress through 5 stages as the activity increases in
intensity and may pose real dangers to your well being.

Shadow People

Reports of shadow people have existed throughout history. The
observer generally reports seeing a dark shadow that resembles the
form of a human which appears and moves of its own accord. The
figures does not have distinguishable facial features and may be
either much smaller or larger than a human. They are often noticed as
movement from the corner of the eye, sometimes disappearing when
the observer turns to investigate.

Inhuman spirits

Inhuman spirits are exactly what the name implies. These spirits are
inhuman and have never been a human. They exist as an entity of their
own, neither male or female. Some claim that inhuman spirits are
demons,evil spirits and are sometimes referred to as Elemental.
These types of spirits are more inclined to malevolence or mischief.

Inhuman spirits are able to manifest themselves in any form they
choose, but can manifest as a half-man half-animal, as well as inflict
irritations associated with the natural element involved. They often
let loose a growl that sounds like it is coming from everywhere at
once. They have been known to make contact by pushing, shoving,
hitting, and scratching. The air in the affected area will feel thick like
fog and the temperature will drastically change, typically becoming
warmer. There have been cases where people have been injured and
even attacked.

Fortunately, they are a rare occurrence. However time is of the
essence when dealing with them and Religious Provocation is
commonly the only way of removing one of these spirits.
